Background:
Dr Mark Gillett is a Consultant in Sports, Exercise and Musculoskeletal Medicine with over 20 years of experience in the field. He has previously worked with the English Institute of Sport, Chelsea Football Club and West Bromwich Albion FC and is currently the Chief Medical Officer for the Premier League. He has considerable expertise in diagnosing and rehabilitating a wide range of musculoskeletal problems in all patient groups. Mark has a pragmatic approach to the treatment of patients with early joint wear and tear who are intimidated by exercise therapy and he has had a great deal of success in helping these patients back to their chosen activity.
Mark was a team physician in the Premier League for over 10 years and has a particular interest in football and rugby injuries, having acquired extensive experience of treating a full range of muscle, tendon and ligament injuries in elite football. He also consults with patients whose training has stagnated and is able to adapt the principles of high- performance sport to help these patients regain their sharpness and improve once more.
